Great way to Lose
Growing up with a lawyer in the family taught me how to argue and win the argument—but not always how to be victorious. I often lost, not because I was wrong, but because of how I argued. Winning isn’t just about being right; it’s about speaking wisely and with grace. Today’s message is inspired by Proverbs 16:20-21: “Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord. The wise of heart is called discerning, and sweetness of speech increases persuasiveness.”
A Detour of Pride
A man set out on a simple trip to visit a relative, but three days later, he found himself hundreds of miles off course. Why? Because he refused to stop and ask for directions! Pride can lead us astray, taking us far from where we intended to be. Today’s message reflects on Proverbs 16:18: “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
Expressway of the Upright
It’s easy to misread this verse and think it’s talking about the “highway of the uptight.” But being upright is not the same as being uptight! To be upright means choosing a path that avoids evil, yet walking that path with a spirit of love and grace. Today’s message is inspired by Proverbs 16:17: “The highway of the upright turns aside from evil; whoever guards his way preserves his life.”
Hope in the Lord
Many in our community are desperate for help, carrying the weight of great losses. Many have placed their hope in programs that, time and again, seem to fall short. They are tired and weary. But it’s often in our weakness that we see more clearly how God is at work. When we have no strength left, we learn to rely fully on Him. In my weakness, God gives me strength.

The Father of Compassion
It’s been a difficult time here in Florida—two hurricanes in just a few weeks. Streets are lined with debris, many are displaced, and power outages have affected countless homes.
